Velvet drawstring bag, made to order
Drawstring bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference DR-VE0002. Edges are folded and stitched rather than cut raw, and the base is reinforced where the load sits, which is the difference between a bag that lasts a season and one that lasts a year.
Material and construction
Velvet is a cut-pile fabric with a short dense nap. Light catches it in one direction only, which is why a velvet pouch looks expensive on a shelf and photographs with depth.
Print on velvet is usually a deboss, a foil or a small woven label rather than a large ink panel, because heavy ink flattens the pile.
Edges are folded and stitched rather than cut raw, and the base is reinforced where the load sits, which is the difference between a bag that lasts a season and one that lasts a year.
Printing and branding
Screen printing is the default for a short colour count: one plate per colour, a crisp edge on woven cloth, and a print that follows the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Heat transfer suits a small logo with fine detail, digital print carries gradients and photographs, and embroidery gives a raised mark without a second component.
We print to a Pantone reference rather than to what a monitor shows, and we send a digital mockup on the bag shape so the size can be judged before tooling. Hardware is stocked in a small range of finishes, and a custom pull or plate can be tooled when the run justifies it.
Size, colour and small changes
Measurements are taken from the finished bag, not from the flat panel, so what you specify is what a buyer measures with a tape on arrival. A pre-production sample is made from the agreed specification before anything is cut for bulk.
Colour can be matched to a Pantone chip, to a fabric swatch or to a previous order, and small changes such as a longer handle, an inner pocket, a zip pull or a lining are part of the same conversation. Hardware, lining and thread are chosen against a physical swatch rather than a screen, which removes most of the surprises.
Packing, checks and shipping
Checks run at three points: on the cut panels, on the assembled bag, and on the packed carton. The reference is the sample you approved, so anything that drifts is caught before it is boxed. Cartons can be plain or printed with your own marks, and inner packing can be a poly bag, a tissue wrap or nothing at all.
Bags are counted into export cartons with an inner poly bag for sea freight, and the carton marks are agreed before packing. Delivery is quoted to your port or door, and the incoterm is stated on the order rather than assumed.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can our logo be printed on this drawstring pouch?
A1: Yes. Embroidery or a woven label is the usual route for velvet, and artwork can be sent as a vector file or redrawn from a photograph. A digital proof showing the mark at true scale comes back to you before anything is cut.
Q2: What is this drawstring pouch made of, and how does it wear?
A2: The body is velvet, cut and stitched so the drawstring pouch keeps its shape when it is loaded. Stress points such as handle joins and the base are reinforced rather than left on a single seam.
Q3: Can we change the size, colour or add a pocket?
A3: Yes. We can adjust dimensions, match a brand colour and add details like a pocket, a zip pull or a different handle. Changes that alter the pattern go through a new sample.
Q4: How do we approve the artwork before production?
A4: A digital proof shows the logo at true scale on the bag, and a photograph of the first article off the line follows. Production only starts once you confirm both in writing.
Send the photo anyway.
