Oxford cloth shopping bag, made to order
Shopping bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference SP-PL00004. Panels are cut on the grain and matched before sewing, so the weave runs the same way across the front, the gusset and the base instead of twisting at the corner.
Material and construction
Oxford cloth is a plain-weave polyester with a compact, faintly lustrous face. It takes full-colour print cleanly, wipes down after handling, and holds its shape once the panels are cut and sewn, which is why it carries most of our promotional shopping bags.
The surface accepts sublimation print as well as screen print, so full-colour panels are possible without extra plates.
Stress points are bar-tacked or cross-stitched where a handle meets the body, and every seam is finished inside so the bag does not shed fibre onto its contents.
Printing and branding
Branding here is a decision about surface as much as artwork: a solid block, a fine line or a stitched label each reads differently on the same bag. Where the artwork has shading we move to heat transfer or digital print; where it should feel raised, to embroidery.
Screens are kept on file after the first run, so a repeat order prints from the same plate and the second delivery matches the first. Tolerances are plus or minus three millimetres on a sewn bag, which is what a handmade line has always held and what your own inspection should expect.
Size, colour and small changes
Dimensions, colour and construction are the three variables we work with, and none of them has to match a catalogue. Carton dimensions are agreed with the order, because the packed size decides the freight cost.
Colour can be matched to a Pantone chip, to a fabric swatch or to a previous order, and small changes such as a longer handle, an inner pocket, a zip pull or a lining are part of the same conversation. A change to the pattern is drawn up and sent back as a dimensioned sketch before the sample is cut.
Packing, checks and shipping
Every order is inspected in line and again before packing, against the approved sample: print position, colour, stitch density, hardware function and measurement. The order sheet records the fibre, the colour references and the print position, so a repeat enquiry can be quoted from it directly.
Cartons are counted and marked before they leave the floor, and the packing list is sent ahead of dispatch so your warehouse knows what is arriving. Where a launch date is fixed, we work back from it to the booking date and confirm both in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can our logo be printed on this shopping bag?
A1: Yes. On oxford cloth we normally use screen printing or heat transfer, which holds thin lines and small type well. Send vector artwork where you have it; where you only have a photo, we redraw the mark and return it for approval.
Q2: What is this shopping bag made of, and how does it wear?
A2: This one is oxford cloth. We pick the weight to match the job the shopping bag has to do, so a pouch that carries cosmetics is not built like one that carries groceries.
Q3: Can we change the size, colour or add a pocket?
A3: Yes. Sizes and colours are open, and small construction changes such as an inside pocket, a longer handle or a lining are quoted from your drawing. Anything that changes the pattern is re-sampled first.
Q4: Can the bag be made in our brand colour?
A4: Yes. We match to a Pantone reference or to a physical swatch you send, and the first article is photographed against that reference so you can see the match before the run continues.
