Cotton drawstring bag, made to order

Drawstring bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference DR-CT0032. Binding runs the full length of every inside seam, and the base is a separate panel rather than a folded continuation of the front, which is what keeps a full bag square.

Material and construction

Cotton is a woven cellulosic fibre: it breathes, it takes print on the surface rather than in a film, and it softens with every wash. We stock it as light muslin for pouches and as 8oz to 12oz canvas for totes, unbleached or dyed to a Pantone reference.

Printed cotton is usually screen printed, which keeps the ink inside the weave and leaves the hand of the cloth intact. Organic fibre and undyed natural shades are available on request.

Stress points are bar-tacked or cross-stitched where a handle meets the body, and every seam is finished inside so the bag does not shed fibre onto its contents.

Printing and branding

Branding here is a decision about surface as much as artwork: a solid block, a fine line or a stitched label each reads differently on the same bag. Where the artwork has shading we move to heat transfer or digital print; where it should feel raised, to embroidery.

We print to a Pantone reference rather than to what a monitor shows, and we send a digital mockup on the bag shape so the size can be judged before tooling. Sampling runs once artwork and specification are agreed, and the signed sample becomes the document the whole run is measured against.

Size, colour and small changes

Measurements are taken from the finished bag, not from the flat panel, so what you specify is what a buyer measures with a tape on arrival. Small quantities are made on the same line as large ones, so a trial order is not a different product.

Handle type and drop, lining, inner pockets and labelling are all open to change, and each is priced before it is made rather than after. Hardware, lining and thread are chosen against a physical swatch rather than a screen, which removes most of the surprises.

Packing, checks and shipping

Every order is inspected in line and again before packing, against the approved sample: print position, colour, stitch density, hardware function and measurement. Cartons can be plain or printed with your own marks, and inner packing can be a poly bag, a tissue wrap or nothing at all.

Shipping documents are prepared from the same order sheet as the goods, so the invoice, the packing list and the carton marks agree. Delivery is quoted to your port or door, and the incoterm is stated on the order rather than assumed.

Q1: Can our logo be printed on this drawstring pouch?

A1: Yes. On cotton we normally use screen printing or embroidery, which holds thin lines and small type well. Send vector artwork where you have it; where you only have a photo, we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

Q2: What is this drawstring pouch made of, and how does it wear?

A2: This one is cotton. We pick the weight to match the job the drawstring pouch has to do, so a pouch that carries cosmetics is not built like one that carries groceries.

Q3: Can we change the size, colour or add a pocket?

A3: Yes. Sizes and colours are open, and small construction changes such as an inside pocket, a longer handle or a lining are quoted from your drawing. Anything that changes the pattern is re-sampled first.

Q4: How long does a sample take?

A4: A printed sample usually takes three to seven working days after artwork approval, and it ships by courier with tracking. The sample cost is credited against the production run.
