Cotton bag, made to your specification rather than pulled from a stock list. The body is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Cangnan, so the pattern carries your dimensions, your colour and your closure instead of a catalogue default. Reference SP-CT0001. Seams are double stitched, raw edges are enclosed, and hardware is set with a backing plate so it does not pull through under load.

Material and construction

Cotton is a woven cellulosic fibre: it breathes, it takes print on the surface rather than in a film, and it softens with every wash. We stock it as light muslin for pouches and as 8oz to 12oz canvas for totes, unbleached or dyed to a Pantone reference.

Printed cotton is usually screen printed, which keeps the ink inside the weave and leaves the hand of the cloth intact. Organic fibre and undyed natural shades are available on request.

Panels are cut on the grain and matched before sewing, so the weave runs the same way across the front, the gusset and the base instead of twisting at the corner.

Printing and branding

Screen printing is the default for a short colour count: one plate per colour, a crisp edge on woven cloth, and a print that follows the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Screen print handles the solid block, heat transfer the fine line, embroidery the label; a woven side tag can go in at the same time.

Placement is usually centred on the front face. The print position, the size in millimetres and the colour reference are confirmed in writing before production, and a mockup of the artwork on the actual shape is sent for approval. Artwork is best sent as vector; where only a photograph exists we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

Size, colour and small changes

Sizes are made to your dimensions rather than picked from a list. If you have the object the bag has to hold, send its measurements and we will work out the allowance; if you have a drawing already, we cut to it. Where the bag is a repeat, we keep the pattern and the screen on file so the second run matches the first.

A taller body, a wider base, a shorter handle or a different closure is a pattern change rather than a new product, so it is quoted as a variation. Anything that alters the pattern is quoted as a variation on this shape rather than as a new product.

Packing, checks and shipping

Inspection is done against the signed sample, with the print position measured and the colour checked under a light box. Any change after approval is re-sampled rather than absorbed into the run, so what is signed off is what is delivered.

Bags are counted into export cartons with an inner poly bag for sea freight, and the carton marks are agreed before packing. Consolidated shipments can combine this line with other bags on the same order, which keeps the freight per carton down.

A1: Yes. On cotton we normally use screen printing or embroidery, which holds thin lines and small type well. Send vector artwork where you have it; where you only have a photo, we redraw the mark and return it for approval.

Q2: What is this canvas tote made of, and how does it wear?

A2: This one is cotton. We pick the weight to match the job the canvas tote has to do, so a pouch that carries cosmetics is not built like one that carries groceries.

Q3: Can we change the size, colour or add a pocket?

A3: Yes. Sizes and colours are open, and small construction changes such as an inside pocket, a longer handle or a lining are quoted from your drawing. Anything that changes the pattern is re-sampled first.

Q4: Can the bag be made in our brand colour?

A4: Yes. We match to a Pantone reference or to a physical swatch you send, and the first article is photographed against that reference so you can see the match before the run continues.
